LIQUI MOLY and MÉGUIN on a consistent growth path





The lubricant specialists see sales growth of 31 percent in the first quarter and takes on new “co-entrepreneurs” around the world


Ulm, 03 April 2008 – While conglomerates and banks all around the globe are announcing write-downs worth billions and mass lay-offs, lubricant specialist LIQUI MOLY is bucking the trend with the mineral oil plant MÉGUIN and continuing on its successful growth path. In the first quarter of 2008, the group recorded a sales increase of 31 percent over the previous year. This development is having a direct impact on staff numbers with eleven new employees taken on to boost the company in March alone. More than 415 people are now part of this progress.

“The market in Germany is falling strongly,” explains managing partner Ernst Prost. “From this point of view, it’s even more commendable that we are growing, increasing sales, winning customers and beating off the competition.” Clever purchasing, excellent sales representatives, general cost-consciousness and economising are the basis for the sales figures. For the first three months, sales were up 31 percent on the previous year, reaching almost €48 million. Of this, €30.5 million fell to LIQUI MOLY with an increase of 19.5 percent and €17.2 million to MÉGUIN with sales up 51 percent compared to January to March 2007.

 

Ernst Prost cites the secret of his success: “Everybody pulls together. And these individual achievements, which everyone works towards with great care and commitment, result in this big picture!” He also knows that growth calls for extra staff to ensure that the success continues. “This is why we’ve taken on more office employees and more people for utility vehicle sales, workshop support and export. And we will continue to take on more. We’re currently focusing on Australia, the United States, Belgium and the Netherlands. Our export drive is demonstrated by the new, permanent sales staff offering onsite customer care in the target countries.”

The way ahead is clear: Keep to the style of the first quarter and achieve the goals.
