The history of Meguin
Establishment
In 1847 Gustav Meguin started his company. He manufactured hoof grease,linseed oil and wagon lubricants
Product range
In 1890the product range was extended to include lubricants for the steel industry, mineral oil and technical grease required by early motorisation.
Light gas
On 1 July 1898 the first gas lanterns started operation in Fraulautern. Gustav Meguin provided the municipal gas supply with the 'waste product' light gas that was generated in his production plant
Rebuilding
In 1948 production restarted on a larger scale. Mineral oil and lubricants from Meguin were urgently required for rebuilding industry in Saarland.
Expansion
6 July 1959 was day X for Saarland - Meguin once again gained access to the entire market in the Federal Republic of Germany and other European countries.
Today
Today Meguin acts a system supplier and joint venture partner on the major markets worldwide. As a production and logistics company Meguin supplied a whole range of well-known companies in the mineral oil sector, the mineral oil trade and industry.
